Belarus’ Entrepreneurship Development Council told to improve performance

MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko gave an instruction to analyze and improve the performance of the Entrepreneurship Development Council, spokesperson for the head of state Natalya Eismont told reporters after the session to discuss the operation and development of free economic zones on 27 December, BelTA informs.

“The President focused on this issue and stressed that the issues like the one on the today’s agenda or those pertaining to the regulations in various fields (established for business and enterprises. – BelTA’s note) which have been recently discussed should be addressed by this council. There was an instruction to analyze and improve the performance of the council,” Natalya Eismont said.

In her words, the council should handle general issues in business and work out corresponding harmonized solutions, generate new ideas.

Belarus’ Entrepreneurship Development Council was founded in accordance with the presidential decree to prepare recommendations regarding the development and provision of comprehensive state assistance to private business entities for the structural reorganization of the economy, formation of competitive relations, and coordination of activities of public associations of entrepreneurs. The council is a consultative body and is working on a voluntary basis.
