MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belnipienergoprom R&D institute and Belenergoremnaladka (organizations affiliated with the Belarusian national electrical company Belenergo), signed contracts worth $1.7 million with Russia’s Ural Turbine Works during the session of Belarus-Sverdlovsk Oblast Business Cooperation Council in Yekaterinburg, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ Energy Ministry.
Under the first contract, Belnipienergoprom will provide design and engineering surveying services for the project to upgrade Minsk cogeneration plant No. 3. The contract on the participation of Ural Turbine Works in the upgrade project was signed in Minsk in February 2017. The Russian company will replace the retired capacities with the new equipment, including a turbine, a boiler, a generator, and accessory equipment.
According to the second contract, Belenergoremnaladka will modernize and repair a low-pressure cylinder of the turbine at Grodno cogeneration plant No. 2. The Russian side is about to produce the equipment to reconstruct the turbine. This project is aimed to considerably improve the technical and economic characteristics of the turbine and boost its capacity by 10MW.
The Belarusian Energy Ministry is attending the 8th international industrial expo Innoprom 2017 held in Yekaterinburg from 10 to 13 July. The event is dedicated to smart manufacturing. Partaking in the expo are 640 companies from 17 countries, and also 95 national commercial and industrial delegations.
