MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Education Minister Igor Karpenko, representatives of the Chinese company Huawei and the Roland Berger consultancy discussed the plans for cooperation in digital transformation between the Education Ministry and Huawei on 9 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Education Ministry.
Huawei and Roland Berger plan to conduct a research to work out a plan for the development of the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Belarus.
“ICT development in healthcare and education is a crucial component of the Belarusian national socio-economic development program and the program to develop digital economy and information society in 2016-2020,” the press service said.
Igor Karpenko pointed out that Belarus has certain background in educational technologies. “We are ready to discuss the implementation of digital technologies in education and training IT specialists. We have achieved a high level of cooperation in the recent years. This is why we can also discuss the expansion of the Chinese language program at all levels of education and review the projects aimed at mutually beneficial partnership,” the minister summarized.
