MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) and Turkey's stock exchange Borsa Istanbul signed a memorandum of understanding, BelTA learned from the DBRB press service.
The document was inked in the presence of Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov during Belarus Investment Forum in Istanbul on 12 November.
The press service noted that the signing of the memorandum was a result of DBRB’s consistent efforts to enter new regional financial markets. The document is aimed at boosting cooperation and strengthening partnership ties between the parties in all fields.
“It is too early to talk about specific transactions. The memorandum is a platform for promoting our interests on the Turkish stock exchange that, we believe, has great potential. Istanbul is an important regional financial center. Our partner, Borsa Istanbul, ranks fourth in the world in terms of liquidity. This is why the Development Bank of Belarus focuses its attention on strengthening cooperation with Turkish partners,” Chairman of the DBRB Board Sergei Rumas noted.
