MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation has studied South Korean achievements in animal cloning, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
The Belarusian delegation visited the Sooam Biotech research laboratory where they studied the work of researcher Hwang Woo-suk. Belarus’ delegation included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Andrei Popkov and Deputy Director General of the Animal Breeding Research Center at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Budevich.
The Belarusian delegation also toured the National Institute of Animal Science affiliated with the Rural Development Administration. The Belarusian delegation also met with Yang Chang-Bum, Director General of the National Institute of Animal Science, to share information about the latest biotechnology projects run by the two countries, including production of transgenic livestock. Top on the agenda were cooperation prospects in animal-breeding and related technology.
