Belarus, Czech Republic to sign cooperation documents in Minsk

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Documents to develop cooperation between Belarus and the Czech Republic will be signed in Minsk on 19 May, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bilateral documents will be signed during the 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Czech mixed commission on economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation. The co-chairs of the commission are Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov and Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Jiri Koliba.

The work of the Belarusian-Czech mixed commission on economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation actively promotes the development of bilateral economic cooperation. The commission includes a number of working groups: on energy, agriculture and food, transport, mechanical engineering, sci-tech and innovative cooperation, and forestry.

The Czech Republic is among Belarus’ top 30 trading partners in terms of exports. Belarus’ main exports to the Czech Republic include oil products, ferrous metal and aluminium products, wires and cables, potash and nitrogen fertilizers, synthetic threads, truck and tractor component parts, napkins and paper towels, roofing materials, timber, combine harvesters and tractors, flax, peat, furniture and many more.
