MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Cuba are interested in developing cooperation in medical sciences and biotechnologies, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
A delegation of the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba and BioCubaFarma Group headed by First Deputy Minister of Public Health Tania Margarita Cruz Hernandez has paid a visit to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
During the meeting with Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation of the NASB and Cuban scientific organizations in medical sciences and biotechnologies and the ways to develop cooperation. Genetics, virology, use of stem cells, smart systems in healthcare, and synthesis of drugs have been identified as the most promising areas for cooperation in the near future.
The parties have reached an agreement to work out a roadmap for cooperation and joint participation of specialists of the two countries in the forthcoming contest of Belarusian-Cuban projects under the Belarusian National Foundation for Fundamental Research.
