Belarus’ consul general pays visit to China’s Xiamen

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Consul General in Shanghai Andrei Andreyev has paid a visit to China’s Xiamen, Fujian Province, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The consul general held meetings with Vice Governor of Fujian Province Guo Ningning, the management of COSCO Shipping Lines Corporation, BRICS Innovation Center, Xiamen Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital, and also visited the sea container terminal and a number of Chinese companies.

The parties discussed practical steps to expand trade and economic cooperation, establish twinning ties between Belarus’ Grodno District and China’s Xiamen, establish practical and research cooperation between the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology and the Xiamen Cardiovascular Surgery Center, and establish direct business ties between Belarusian high-tech enterprises and the BRICS Innovation Center.

As part of the international delegation of diplomatic representatives, the Belarusian consul general also took part in the opening of the international trade and investment exhibition CIFIT China and in the series of business meetings “Global Ideas of Chinese Enterprises” organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of Xiamen.

In an interview with journalists of Chinese news agencies, Andrei Andreyev emphasized that at the current stage the practical steps to enhance Belarusian-Chinese cooperation were based on intensive joint work to implement the agreements reached by the heads of state and governments of both countries during the recent meetings.
