Belarus, China to discuss trade, economic cooperation in Beijing on 20 August

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Representatives of Belarus and China are expected to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in Beijing on 20 August, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.

The Belarusian delegation during the session of the Belarus-China trade and economic cooperation commission will be led by Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky while the Chinese side will be headed by Deputy Commerce Minister Zhong Shan.

Representatives of the economy ministries, ministries of foreign affairs, finance, energy, agriculture and food, ministries of industry, transport and communications, architecture and civil engineering as well as representatives of the company in charge of developing the China-Belarus Industrial Park will also take part in the commission’s session.

As part of the event the first session of the working group on interregional trade and economic cooperation will take place. The Belarusian side will be represented by deputy heads of the oblast administrations and the Minsk city administration while the Chinese side will be represented by representatives of commerce departments of the administrations of provinces and cities.

The press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry reminded that China is a key strategic and trade partner of Belarus, this is why Belarus is intent on securing productive trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in addition to invigorating this cooperation across the board.
