MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – The State Customs Committee of Belarus and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China have signed an agreement on the mutual recognition of the Belarusian program of authorized economic operators and the Chinese program on enterprise credit management, the press service of Belarus’ Customs told BelTA.

The document was signed as Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko met with Ni Yuefeng, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China. According to the press service, it is the first agreement of the kind for Belarus. Its implementation will help improve the security of shipments from the sender to the receiver. It will also help simplify legal trade between Belarus and China.

A discussion took place and decisions were made on a broad range of topical matters concerning customs cooperation. The sides signed a memorandum of understanding on building up the partnership in order to accelerate customs operations for commodities transported as part of trans-Eurasian container transportation by rail. The memorandum stipulates joint measures designed to expedite the release of freight in the course of such transportation.

The documents fully match the goals and tasks today’s customs services face in the age of development of information technologies and systems, representatives of Belarus’ Customs added.
