BREST, 12 May (BelTA) – Brest Oblast of Belarus is aimed at close cooperation with the Asian countries, Brest Oblast Vice Governor Dmitry Gorodetsky told the media on 12 May, BelTA has learned.
“Within the economic conditions we have to work under today and the attitude of Western partners, we are focused on working with the countries of Asia and others. This focus will bring results. It takes some time to reorient from one market to another and to build optimal logistical schemes for the supply of goods, equipment, and so on. I am sure that this work will be done and we will come back to our previous positions,” said Dmitry Gorodetsky.
According to him, Brest Oblast is focused on working closely with China. There is a big market of opportunities in India. Belarusian products are in demand in Vietnam and Indonesia. There is interest in importing components from there. “The emphasis is on the Russian regions and the eastern vector. We can also work closely with the CIS countries. It is an objective reality, and in these conditions we set priorities based on the prevailing situation,” the vice governor said.
Brest will host an international forum and exhibition of business contacts on 18-19 May. Representatives of about 15 countries will take part in the event.
