Belarus’ best practices on display at China-EAEU Customs Dialogue

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – A delegation of the State Customs Committee of Belarus took part in the 1st International High-Level Customs Dialogue between China and the EAEU Member States in Harbin to present the country’s best practices in customs regulation and delivery security, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky spoke about the customs simplifications applied in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone and the results of the pilot project to apply electronic seals in motor transportation, advantages of mutual recognition of bona fide business statuses of Belarus and China.

The Belarusian delegation also highlighted the current and promising areas of optimizing cross-border commodity movement along the railway route China-Europe-China through Belarus, measures for the practical implementation of the international agreement signed between the EAEU and China on 6 June on the exchange of customs information.

Representatives of the Belarusian delegation met with Deputy Minister of the China General Administration of Customs Wang Lingjun, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province Chen Zhining and heads of the delegations of the customs services of the EAEU member states and the Eurasian Economic Commission, the leadership of the Harbin Customs and Bingcheng customs. The participants of the meetings exchanged progressive customs practices, demonstrated advanced technical solutions in conducting customs examinations, electronic registration of goods, electronic commerce processing, the use of mobile X-ray cargo inspection systems.

Official representative of the Belarusian Customs in China Dmitry Kovalyonok took part in the dialogue between representatives of the state and business of China and Russian-speaking countries, entitled as E-Commerce within the Silk Road Project. He presented the Belarusian model of customs registration and e-commerce goods control system.
