MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom shipped its products to 52 countries in 2020, BelTA learned from Bellegprom’s press service.
The board of Bellegprom convened on 5 February to take stock of the performance of the concern in 2020. “Companies affiliated with Bellegprom produced $649.9 million worth of goods in 2020, 59.5% of which was shipped to 52 foreign markets,” the press service said.
Bellegprom annually posts a foreign trade surplus. In 2020, the surplus reached $170.9 million. In Q4, the output of Bellegprom companies grew 1.5 times and export almost doubled over Q2.
Bellegprom boosted export to Lithuania (128.7% year-on-year), Germany (104.6%), Estonia (115.3%), Japan (296.2%), Uzbekistan (107.3%), Sweden (102.8%), Bulgaria (158.2%), Slovakia (176.2%), Czechia (115.8%), Israel (129.4%), Denmark (360.3%), Australia (361.2%), and Austria (261.5%).
As a result, profit from sales surged 1.2 times, sales margin came at 11.7%, and net profit grew by 6.4%.
In order to make goods more competitive, Bellegprom cut production costs by 2% and the energy-saving target stood at 8.6%.
Labor productivity also improved in 2020, with per capita output up by 6.5%, per capita profit – by 1%, and per capita added value – by 10.7%.
At the start of the board meeting, Bellegprom Head Tatiana Lugina handed out awards of the concern. Orsha Linen Mill that celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2020 received an honorary certificate. In recognition of support for art and charity projects and for public relations activities, letters of appreciation were presented to such Bellegprom companies as Galanteya, Kamvol, Brest Stoking Mill, Kalinka, Baranovichi Cotton Production Association, Svitanak, Orsha Linen Mill, Vitebsk Carpets, and Dobrush Porcelain Factory.
