MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Ten 220-tonne BelAZ haul trucks will soon arrive at Kovdor Mining and Processing Plant in Murmansk Oblast, BelTA learned from BelAZ.
The first four haul trucks have already arrived at the plant and are undergoing stage-by-stage assembly and pre-start tests. By the end of January, all of them will be put into operation, and six more haul trucks will be assembled and put into service during the first half of the year.
As part of the investment project to upgrade the pool of mining equipment, Kovdor Mining and Processing Plant has already put into operation ten 136-tonne haul trucks. All in all, twenty new trucks are to be put into service.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the holding company BelAZ. BelAZ is the world's largest manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for the mining industry and the civil engineering industry. BelAZ occupies about 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world’s largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
