MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus-Azerbaijan trade in food products and agricultural raw materials has increased by more than 70% over the past five years, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“Azerbaijan is an important and reliable partner for Belarus. We do not compete with each other as food suppliers, quite the opposite, we complement each other. There is an increase in the export of Belarusian dairy, meat and fish products. In turn, supplies of Azerbaijani tomatoes, melons and watermelons, fruits and nuts, and fresh potatoes to Belarus have increased,” the ministry informed.
In line with the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Azerbaijan, the possibility of launching joint production of veterinary drugs in Azerbaijan is being explored. According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, specific agreements in animal husbandry have already been reached.
On 3 October, a roadmap for the development of agricultural production in Azerbaijan was signed by the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan.
