Belarus, Argentina sign memorandum of cooperation in agriculture

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Argentina have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the agricultural sector. The document was concluded during the first meeting of the Belarusian-Argentinean commission on trade and economic cooperation on 21 September, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian part of the commission was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Guryanov, the Argentinean part - by Secretary (in the capacity of Deputy Minister) in International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship Carlos Alberto Bianco. The event was held as part of the visit of the Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to the countries of Latin America. The parties discussed the state and prospects of expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects, strengthening business contacts, as well as the prospects for the development of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation in the international arena.

Alexander Guryanov also met with Foreign Policy Undersecretary at the Argentina Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Carolina Perez Colman to discuss the issues of bilateral and multilateral agenda and the opportunity to coordinate further actions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Argentina. The parties agreed to intensify ministerial interaction and cooperation in the UN and other international organizations.

Apart from that, Alexander Guryanov presented a consular patent to Christian Desideri, Honorary Consul of Belarus in the northern provinces of Argentina.
