MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – The Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine bottled at the Belarusian pharmaceutical company Belmedpreparaty has been approved by the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.
The decision is based on the findings of a comprehensive expert assessment of the registration dossier materials by the Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service and the National Research Center for Microbiology and Epidemiology.
The semi-finished vaccine product is produced by Russia’s pharmaceutical company Generium, which is part of Pharmstandard. Earlier the Sputnik V vaccine produced by this Russian company was registered in Belarus and has been used to vaccinate health workers for several months already, the press service of the Healthcare Ministry noted.
Quality control of both experimental and commercial batches was carried out by the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Russia’s Ministry of Health together with Belmedpreparaty. The latter plans to produce up to 500,000 vaccine doses every month. This will significantly improve access to the immunization program in Belarus.
