MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – Belarus annually exports about 350,000-400,000 tonnes of potatoes, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun told a news conference “On the readiness of the Belarusian agricultural sector for the 2021 spring sowing campaign”, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus supplies around 350,000-400,000 tonnes of potatoes abroad every year. This year, agricultural enterprises that specialize in growing potatoes have increased the area planted to potatoes by 27%,” Vladimir Grakun said.
According to him, Belarus’ main export markets for potatoes are Russia (80% of the total), Ukraine, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and the Baltic states.
