MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Belarus makes so much more agricultural products than it consumes. Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo made the statement on the air of the Belarusian radio station Alfa Radio, BelTA has learned.

According to the source, Belarus’ agricultural output exceeds domestic consumption by several times. “Even if something is in short supply, we will simply export less, we will leave more in Belarus,” the official said.

Igor Brylo remarked that there are plenty of products in storage. The amount is sufficient for satisfying the domestic demand. “It is understandable that people are in bit of a panic: some want to buy two packs of salt while someone else wants three packs of pasta, two packs of flour and so on. In January-February sales of these foods skyrocketed in comparison with, let’s say, December 2021. Our pasta manufacturers work round the clock already. There are plenty of raw materials, flour, and pasta. There is plenty of tinned meat. If we have to make more tinned meat, we will instruct meat-packing plants accordingly. But there should be no panic,” the agriculture and food minister stressed.
