MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) - The agricultural output in Belarus' enterprises of all categories in current prices reached Br3.4 billion in January-April 2018, up by 1.5% from the same period of last year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
The agricultural enterprises manufactured Br3.3 billion worth of products, up 2% versus January-April 2017.
The enterprises of all categories produced 607,400 tonnes of livestock and poultry (live weight), which was up by 0.8% over January-April 2017. The output of milk was 2.337 million tonnes (up 2.4%).
As for agricultural organizations, livestock and poultry output amounted to 576,500 tonnes (live weight), up by 1.3% as against January-April 2017. Milk output made up 2.265 million tonnes, up 2.7% from the same period a year earlier.
As of 1 May 2018, the cattle population amounted to 4.3 million head, up 0.7% from the same period a year prior, including 1.4 million cows (a 0.2% increase).
