MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ exports of agricultural products went up by 6.5% in January-May 2018, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“In January-May 2018 the export of agricultural products rose by 6.5% to total $2.071 billion. The meat products group contributed the most to the growth. The export of meat products went up by 12% in physical terms and by 14.7% in monetary terms to total $402.6 million in January-May 2018. The growth was registered across the beef and poultry groups,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.
In January-May Belarus exported 1.6 million tonnes of dairy products to the tune of $800 million. These figures are virtually the same as last year. “In physical terms the export of cheese, cottage cheese, butter, whole milk powder, condensed milk, cream is higher than last year,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.
