MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Azerbaijan intends to get familiar with the Belarusian experience of regulating waste recycling and the development of the system of nature conservation areas, the press service of the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry told BelTA.
These and other matters were discussed as Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Andrei Khyduk met with Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mukhtar Babayev on 11 September. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belarus Latif Gandilov took part in the negotiations.
According to the source, the Azerbaijani ecology and natural resources minister has come to Belarus on a working trip. While in Belarus he intends to get familiar with the state administration of nature conservation activities in the country, the Belarusian experience of regulating waste recycling and the development of the system of nature conservation areas. Mukhtar Babayev is expected to visit a waste sorting and recycling plant near the Trostenetsky landfill and the national park Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
During the meeting Andrei Khyduk noted it is advisable to advance cooperation between the environmental protection agencies of the two countries in the area of hydrometeorology, geology, prospecting and extraction of mineral resources.
As a result of the visit the sides intend to sign a program for the 2018-2019 period on implementing the environmental protection agreement the two ministries signed in 2010.
