Association of Belarusian Banks joins Financial and Banking Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – The Association of Belarusian Banks (ABB) has joined the Financial and Banking Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC), BelTA learned from the ABB.

The FBA EAC membership certificate was bestowed upon ABB Chairman Alexander Kuchinsky by Chairman of the FBA EAC Coordination Council Alexander Murychev and Director General Oleg Berezovoi.

Alexander Murychev expressed confidence that ABB joining the association will help establish closer ties between the financial institutions operating in Eurasia, develop relations in financing mutual trade and investment projects. Programs implemented by the Belarusian credit and financial institutions can be reflected in the projects of the FBA EAC, which will contribute to strengthening integration processes in the banking sector, he said.

The main objective of the Financial and Banking Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation is to develop interbank cooperation between the member states of the SCO, BRICS, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the European Union. Among the members and partners of the FBA EAC are 42 structures, including the financial and banking associations of Russia, CIS, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Central and Eastern Europe, banks and commercial structures of China, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Russia, Romania, and Uzbekistan.

The Association of Belarusian Banks was established in 1990 to coordinate the activities of credit and financial institutions, unites 36 banks and organizations.
