MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim looks forward to the arrival of another shipment of Azeri Light oil from the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) in April, BelTA learned from Belneftekhim Press Secretary Aleksandr Tishchenko.

The spokesman said: “We are supposed to get 85,000 tonnes of oil from Azerbaijan. We expect the shipment to be delivered soon.”

Tankers will keep bringing oil for Belarus via the southern direction and the northern one, the press secretary added.

According to the news agency Trend, a tanker with Azerbaijani oil for Belarus is supposed to depart from the Georgian port of Supsa on 8 April provided the weather gets stabilized.

BelTA reported earlier that in March SOCAR sent three tankers with about 250,000 tonnes of oil for Belarus. Oil was delivered to the port of Odessa and then pumped by pipeline to Mozyr Oil Refinery.

Belneftekhim Chairman Andrei Rybakov was quoted as saying that SOCAR may deliver up to 1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2020.
