MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov was in Angola on a working visit on 10-11 August. The press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA, Angola is interested in using cutting-edge Belarusian technologies, tractors, and other agricultural machines.
Valentin Rybakov met with Angolan Minister of External Relations Georges Rebelo Chikoti. Consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries took place to discuss the bilateral agenda and the multilateral one.
The Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also held a number of bilateral meetings. During the meeting with Angolan Economy Minister Abraao Pio dos Santos Gourgel the sides confirmed the mutual commitment of the two countries to mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide number of avenues and stated the need to set up a Belarusian-Angolan intergovernmental commission.
Prospects of advancing cooperation in the exploration and extraction of mineral deposits were discussed with Angolan Geology Minister Manuel Francisco Queiros. Valentin Rybakov also met with Angolan Agriculture Minister Afonso Pedro Canga. The Angolan side spoke highly of Belarus’ accomplishments in ensuring food security and export orientation of the agribusiness industry, the assimilation of high social standards for people in the countryside and expressed interest in using cutting-edge Belarusian technologies, tractors, and other agricultural machines.
Possibilities of supplying Belarusian food and agricultural machines were discussed during the meeting with the administration and companies, which are members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola.
