MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – A laboratory to assess engine noise characteristics will open at Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ trademark), BelTA learned from the press service of the enterprise.
The laboratory will be a shielded enclosure with its walls covered with sound absorbing elements. Such a room is called anechoic chamber (complete absence of echo). “It works like a sound studio, the evaluation of noise will be done in the room that completely absorbs reflections of sound. Previously, engine noise testing was carried out on the street or in some quiet room,” the press office informed.
The MMZ anechoic chamber will undergo a quality check, as well as an expert evaluation. The pre-commissioning work is currently underway.
