Andreichenko: Belarus ready to provide Laos with export loans through DBRB

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to offer export loans to Laos through the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB), Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Lao Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith on 4 August, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Andreichenko stated that today the volume of trade between the two countries is relatively small. However, Belarusian manufacturers are interested in increasing their export to Laos. These include producers of farm machines, trucks, rock haulers, and other goods. “The product range is very broad. We are ready to offer export loans to Laos through the DBRB. All the more so because our DBRB and the Lao Bank for Foreign Trade have a cooperation agreement,” Vladimir Andreichenko noted. In his words, such an export loan will be offered through the DBRB in the near future. Belarus is also preparing a batch of trucks to be shipped to Laos.

The Speaker also said that a delegation of specialists from a Belarusian military industrial enterprise will visit Laos soon. Besides, he emphasized that Belarus and Laos have great cooperation potential in setting up assembling plants and joint ventures. “We have already gained good experience in this field. We expect to get support from our ministries of foreign affairs as, unfortunately, the tasks previously set by our presidents have not been carried out yet,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

For his part, Mr Saleumxay Kommasith thanked the Belarusian side for the warm welcome and noted that Laos highly values its relations with Belarus in all areas. He also said that a delegation of the Lao Culture Ministry will visit Belarus in the near future and that they have plans to hold Days of Lao Culture in Belarus.
