MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Amkodor Holding Company has opened its service center in Bangladesh, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.
“Amkodor Palash Indutrial Zone Ltd. has been opened in Palash, Bangladesh. Attending the official opening ceremony was Belarus’ Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and Cooperative of Bangladesh Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Amkodor Director General Valery Ivankovich,” said the press service.
Since July 2015 Amkodor has shipped to Bangladesh a total of 1,395 vehicles and vehicle sets worth $50 million. They included loaders with skid steering, excavator-loaders, asphalt compactors, all-purpose loaders, moulds, catch hooks, hydraulic hammers. A service center was opened on 27 April 2017 to provide maintenance to the equipment delivered to Bangladesh.
During the official visit to Bangladesh Belarus’ Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk met with Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina Wazed. The parties discussed the ways of increasing mutual trade, progress made in the implementation of joint projects in the delivery of equipment, and also further cooperation in the mechanical engineering sector. The prime minister of Bangladesh stressed the importance of improving trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and named Amkodor a driving force behind Belarus-Bangladesh relations.
In 2016 the companies under the Belarusian Industry Ministry exported $50.4 million worth of goods to Bangladesh. The supplies included the products of Amkodor, Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) and Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Parts and Units.
