MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) - Mutual benefit is a powerful driving force of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong said at a ceremony to sign the agreement “On the exchange of delegations and cooperation in journalism” in Minsk on 26 April, BelTA has learned.
Amid the protracted pandemic and a slowdown in the global economy, the trade between China and Belarus expanded in 2021 despite those prevailing trends, the Chinese diplomat said. According to him, Belarusian agricultural exports to China have been growing. "This has marked a new bright milestone in the bilateral trade cooperation," he said.
Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong said that in January-February of this year the trade between China and Belarus increased as well, which gave a good start to trade cooperation between the two countries. The number of resident companies of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, a landmark project of the Belt and Road initiative, has reached 89, and the volume of declared investments has exceeded $1.2 billion.
