MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is interested in the delivery of Belarusian machinery to African countries. The issue was on the agenda of the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Sergei Rachkov and Afreximbank President Dr. Benedict Okey Oramah on 1 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The sides agreed to hold negotiations on the financing of the export deliveries of products made by OAO MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ, Amkodor, Gomselmash and other manufacturers by Afreximbank.
The sides also discussed the results of the visit of the bank’s delegation to Belarus in June 2016 and the priorities of cooperation between Afreximbank and Belarusian economic operators in the promotion of Belarus’ export of goods and services to Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, and other countries of the region.
Founded in 1993, Afreximbank is an international (Interregional) financial institution headquartered in Egypt. The bank’s assets made up about $5.5 billion, the equity capital reaches $0.9 billion. The bank has international credit ratings Baa2 (Moody’s) and BBB (Fitch). Afreximbank was instituted by the participants from 41 African countries.
