BEIJING, 5 May (BelTA) – There are plans to sign about 30 agreements on economic cooperation to the tune of nearly $15.7 billion, Deputy Head of the Eurasian Affairs Department at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Zhang Dong told BelTA.
He said that it is also planned to sign agreements in other areas.
Xi Jinping will pay a visit to Belarus on 10-12 May upon the invitation from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. It will be the first visit of the Chinese president to Belarus in the past 14 years.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will begin his foreign tour on 7 May. On 7 May the Chinese leader will visit Kazakhstan and then will head for Russia to take part in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The visit of the Chinese president to Belarus will also include events to mark Victory Day. As part of the visit the Chinese leader and members of the delegation are expected to lay flowers at the Victory Monument in Minsk.
