GOMEL, 11 November (BelTA) – Kyrgyzstan seeks to set up a joint venture to produce farm machines with the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus Kubanychbek Omuraliyev told journalists on 11 November as he paid a visit to Belarus’ Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned.
The matter was discussed during the meeting between Kubanychbek Omuraliyev and Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Dvornik. “For our part, we are ready to supply to Gomel Oblast high-quality seeds of alfalfa, beetroot, and other agricultural plants cultivated in your country,” the Ambassador noted.
The intensification of bilateral cooperation in agricultural machine building can boost cooperation in other sectors of economy and trade. A delegation of Kyrgyz businessmen will visit Gomel Oblast in the coming months to study the agricultural capacity of the region and hold negotiations with potential partners. Kubanychbek Omuraliyev and Vladimir Dvornik also agreed that Gomel Oblast businessmen will pay a return visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The Ambassador will visit Gomselmash and the confectionery factory Spartak on 11 November.
In January-September 2015 the trade between Kyrgyzstan and Gomel Oblast made up $1.6 million. The export of the Belarusian region to this country reached $1.2 million. Gomselmash accounts for around a third of Belarusian exports. The Gomel Oblast companies Mozyrsol and Bumprom also sell their products to Kyrgyzstan.
