MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - The Federation of Trade Unions is going to host a large-scale tourist forum “Heritage of Belarus” timed to the Year of Historical Memory. The event will be held at the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions on 28-30 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB).
“We have put our best effort to collect and present, in one place, the centuries-old history, traditions and modernity of our country - all that Belarusians are proud of and cherish. The forum will be held for the first time. And it is no coincidence that it will happen in the Year of Historical Memory. After all, traveling in one's native country is an integral part of learning as well as keeping history," the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions informed. “Trade unions have also developed another 50 new unique routes to the places of historical memory in different regions of the country. They will also be on view at the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions".
The forum will present the excursion and tourist capabilities of all regions of Belarus. At the same time, each region will showcase not only a variety of tourist routes but also iconic historical artifacts. A facsimile copy of the Brest Bible of the 16th century, the Icon of the Mother of God of Kalozha from the oldest temple in Belarus, the seal and replica of the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, the printing press of Francysk Skaryna, the multi-volume facsimile edition "The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna… All this and much more will be presented at the forum. In addition, there will be numerous master classes on folk crafts and rites. Culinary traditions can literally be tasted: guests will be treated to dishes made according to old recipes as well as to new products that are produced by local manufacturers today.
As for traveling around the native country, absolutely all types of tourism will be presented during the forum. So, hundreds of tourist routes both military-patriotic and historical ones in all regions will be presented at the forum. Dozens of excursions have been developed to explore natural resources of the country. Another important type of tourism is factory tourism. The guests of the forum will be informed where they can learn the secrets of making chocolate, candies and cookies, or taste the best Belarusian products and even make their own name mugs.
