Zabarovsky: Belarus, Russia working together to preserve memory about Victory

MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia cooperate in matters of preserving the memory of war heroism. This work is done on a serious systemic basis, not from holiday to holiday, Director of the Moscow Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Zabarovsky said during a video link between Minsk and Moscow Feat of Homeland defenders will Stay in Memory Forever, BelTA has learned.

"We have signed agreements on cooperation with the Belarusian Great Patriotic War Museum and we carry out a lot of joint projects, including international ones," Vladimir Zabarovsky said.

He pointed out that the parties are planning to take this work further, increase its size and scope, and apply innovative approaches. "Together we need to organize the work in such a way so that the Great Victory celebrations find their way to the hearts of the old and the young alike. We want to contribute to the patriotic education of the younger generations,” Vladimir Zabarovsky noted.

"Victory Day is, in fact, the main state holiday, and we started preparing for it long ago. We have been working on this for years. Government bodies, public and veterans’ organizations, civil society institutions have been actively preparing for the day. But I want to emphasize that the Russian side has been conducting this work in very close partnership and cooperation with the Belarusian colleagues. Our joint activity plays a special role in the intercultural collaboration, and is quite palpable in the Union State,” said Vladimir Zabarovsky.
