MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – The World Bank (WB) can be proud of the fact that it managed to expand and strengthen cooperation with Belarus, Young Chul Kim, World Bank Country Manager for Belarus, said as he met members of the House of Representatives on 29 October, BelTA has learned.
Young Chul Kim explained that the World Bank representative office managed to promote its projects with Belarus in such areas as the human potential development, private sector, etc. “We can be proud of the fact that we have done such work and managed to enhance our cooperation with Belarus,” the official said.
In spring 2015 the World Bank submitted a draft report – roadmap of structural reforms to the Belarusian government. This document has laid the foundation for the subsequent negotiations of Belarus with such institutions as, for example, the IMF. “I should say that within seven months of consultations with these organizations their programs have been revised in a way to reflect the needs of the Belarusian side,” Young Chul Kim said.
