“China and Belarus have always been reliable partners in promoting the modernization of the world through development and innovation,” the diplomat stressed. “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 10 January 1992, China and Belarus have gone through a 31-year period of friendly cooperation. The relations between the two countries have withstood the test of the rapidly changing international environment and have always remained viable and dynamic. Last September, President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandr Lukashenko met in Samarkand and jointly decided to raise the level of China-Belarus relations to an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership, thanks to which the China-Belarus relations have made a historic leap. This year, at President Xi Jinping's invitation, President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid a state visit to China from 28 February to 2 March.”
“I would like to present the main results of the talks between the president of China and the president of Belarus. First, political mutual trust between China and Belarus has become even stronger. During the talks, the two heads of state demonstrated the high level of political mutual trust between China and Belarus. President Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Belarus have a strong unbreakable friendship; both countries should firmly support each other in pursuing their chosen path of development and protecting their core interests, oppose interference in internal affairs from outside, and defend state sovereignty and political security. President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that the connection between the peoples of the two countries was unchanged, and that the people of Belarus would stand firmly by the side of China under any circumstances,” Xie Xiaoyong added.
According to him, Belarus steadily supports China's efforts to protect its own key interests and takes an active part in the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Development Initiative put forward by Xi Jinping. Chinese-Belarusian practical cooperation has further deepened. ‘Cooperation’ is one of the most frequently mentioned key words by Xi Jinping and Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The ambassador pointed out that international cooperation between China and Belarus has become even closer. “China and Belarus are advocates of international justice and equality. China highly appreciates Belarus' support of the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and is interested in strengthening coordination and cooperation with Belarus within the UN and other multilateral platforms, jointly counter global challenges and make joint efforts to form the Community of Common Destiny for Mankind,” the diplomat said.
He believes it is important that Belarus is ready to strengthen coordination with China on the most important international and regional issues and join efforts to ensure international and regional security and stability.
Xie Xiaoyong expressed confidence that under the strategic guidance of the Chinese president and the president of Belarus, the two countries are expected to further strengthen political mutual trust, continuously improve the level and quality of business cooperation, consistently expand humanitarian exchanges.
“The Chinese-Belarusian relations will continue to maintain good dynamics of development and bring even more benefits to the peoples of the two countries. Representatives of China and Belarus will make joint efforts, implement the important agreements reached by the heads of state, enrich the content of the Chinese-Belarusian relations of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership through innovation and development,” the Chinese ambassador to Belarus stressed.
