MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – The World Bank is eager to implement joint projects with Belarus, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 1 June, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to thank you for the kind words regarding the partner relations between Belarus and the World Bank. We are proud of the work that we have done with your country. Over the past years, the number of our joint projects has considerably increased. We have a good history of project implementation and evaluation in Belarus. I would like us to continue on this trajectory and implement projects that would bring tangible results,” Cyril Muller noted.
Belarus joined the World Bank in 1992. The current investment lending portfolio includes nine operations totaling around $1 billion and four grants to the tune of $8.8 million. Over the period from 1992 to 2016, Belarus has received $1.5 billion from the World Bank.
