MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Vietnam thinks highly of Belarus’ contribution to ensuring security and peace in the region, BelTA learned from Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Public Security To Lam, who took part in a ceremony to lay flowers at the obelisk in Pobedy Square.
To Lam said: “Vietnam always thinks highly of Belarus’ contribution to ensuring security and peace in the region. Vietnam and Belarus have maintained active cooperation for many years. Both sides now continue developing and strengthening constructive interaction in all fields. I am convinced that cooperation and friendship between the two countries will grow stronger. I wish Belarus to achieve even more in the construction and development of the country.”
The Vietnamese public security minister noted that it was a great honor for him to visit Belarus in the period of celebration of the 75th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders. “First of all, I would like to congratulate you on this anniversary,” To Lam said. He added that the Vietnamese nation and the Belarusian one are very peace-loving and know what peace costs.
A delegation of the Vietnamese Public Security Ministry is in Belarus on a visit. Vietnamese Public Security Minister To Lam is expected to meet with Chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus Valery Vakulchik. The sides intend to discuss interaction between security agencies in ensuring national security of the countries, matters of joint counteraction of global challenges and threats, fight against international organized crime.
The Vietnamese delegation is also expected to meet with top officials of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry and the State Forensic Examination Committee.
