MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – The Pentagon welcomes Belarus’ neutral position on the situation in Ukraine, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dr Michael Carpenter told journalists on 29 March, BelTA has learned.
“It is important for us to discuss matters of military security in Europe with Belarus. We highly appreciate Belarus’ neutral position on the situation in Ukraine and the fact that it hosts meetings aimed at resolving the conflict,” Michael Carpenter said.
However, he noted that the parties to the Ukraine conflict still fail to implement their ceasefire commitments in full. “Although the United States is not a member of the Normandy Four, we continue to promote the settlement of the conflict at the diplomatic level,” Michael Carpenter added.
