MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have been successfully implementing the Union State projects in defense and security, MP of Russia’s State Duma Tatyana Moskalkova told media ahead of a solemn meeting to mark the Unity Day of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia on 2 April, BelTA has learned.

“We have been successfully implementing a total of 37 Union State projects including in the area of defense and security,” the MP said. She stressed as important the package of documents on migration policy Belarus and Russia have recently signed.

Besides, the State Duma MP read out the letter of the Unity Day greetings from Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin. “Integration reforms in every area of the Russian-Belarusian cooperation: economy, social policy, science and culture, defense and security, crime prevention, and environment have been consistently carried out by our countries all way through the Community of Russia and Belarus to the Union of Belarus and Russia and the establishment of the Union State,” the speaker said.

“Not only does the integration experience contribute to the solution of common topical issues in the interests of our brotherly nations, but it also promotes the all-round development of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Sergei Naryshkin said.
