MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarus highly appreciates the activities of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) aimed at developing and strengthening the national potential of its member countries, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus in Geneva Mikhail Khvostov said when speaking at the high-level segment of the 66th session of the UNECE, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The session is taking place in Geneva from 14 till 16 April. The head of the Belarusian delegation Mikhail Khvostov named Belarus’ priorities in such areas of UNECE’s activities as trade, residential sector and power engineering and called on all the member countries to tap into the potential of the relevant working bodies of the commission.
The participants of the session were also briefed about the bilateral cooperation between Belarus and the UNECE, in particular, about the Environmental Performance Review of Belarus currently conducted by the UNECE experts.
