MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – The Belarus-Spain business forum in Minsk stresses Belarus’ role as a country situated at the junction of two economic systems, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich told journalists on 24 March, BelTA has learned.
“The forum demonstrates a new perception of Belarus as a country located at the junction of two large economic systems. We open the Eurasian market for Europeans, and our partners open the opportunities of the European market for us. This forum plays an important role in the context of the current economic situation. Big European industrial countries move towards Belarus and this is a significant and positive sign,” Vladimir Ulakhovich noted.
He pointed out that the Spanish delegation includes representatives of different sectors of economy, from IT to construction and equipment production. The list of Belarusian participants features 60 companies. “The forum opens great opportunities for both Belarus and Spain,” Vladimir Ulakhovich believes.
For his part, Chief Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in Russia Luis Cacho Quesada noted that Spanish enterprises are set to study the potential of the Belarusian market. “From this point of view, we are mostly interested in developing cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union,” he said.
The representative of the Spanish Embassy added that the forum in Minsk contributes to the development of cooperation between Belarus and Spain and, first of all, strengthens the bilateral business ties.
