MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Ukraine values Belarus’ efforts to help a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Kizim said in an interview to the ONT TV channel as he commented on the results of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Ukraine, BelTA has learned.
According to the Ambassador, the two heads of state discussed political and economic cooperation, interaction in the humanitarian and cultural areas. “The leaders also talked over the situation in Donbass. The emphasis was on the importance to continue the Minsk-format negotiations,” Igor Kizim said.
“Belarus’ contribution to the organization of the process was underlined,” the Ambassador added.
In his words, on 24 July the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France are expected to discuss the situation in Donbass in a telephone conversation.
