MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – Russia’s Udmurtia is interested in a closer economic cooperation with Belarus in a wide range of areas, head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Solovyov told journalists on 27 February, BelTA has learned.
In 2014 the trade between Belarus and Udmurtia made up $44.1 million. “I believe that from now we will start increasing the volume of our trade. There are some goods that we want to buy from Belarus. First of all, we are interested in Belarusian trolleybuses and trams. We are also eager to develop cooperation in agriculture and set up joint enterprises,” Alexander Solovyov noted.
He added that after the visit to Belarus, the Russian delegation is planning to sign a protocol to develop the bilateral cooperation between the governments of Belarus and Udmurtia in 2015-2017.
The delegation of the Udmurt Republic is on a visit to Belarus since 25 February. The Russians have already held meetings with heads of Belarusian enterprises. “We have great cooperation prospects. If we had come to Belarus earlier, today we would be reaping the benefits,” Alexander Solovyov pointed out.
