MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - Europe has admitted the need for opening a new page in the relations with Belarus, political analyst Tony van der Togt said in an interview to the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Europe has finally developed an understanding that it is necessary to open a new page in the relations with Belarus, conduct a more engaged dialogue and cooperate more actively in the areas of mutual interest,” the politologist stressed.
In turn, Latvian MP of the European Parliament Andrei Mamykin told the Belarusian TV channel that there are a number of issues that should be addressed in the near future. Easing visa rules is one of them. “Almost all Belarusian citizens that get the Schengen visa come back. That means that here there is no threat of illegal migration for Europe,” Andrei Mamykin said.
