MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – There are all necessary conditions to hold the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Minsk next year, Deputy Director General of the Interstate Development Corporation Sergei Demensky told media on 24 June, BelTA informs.
“Minsk has a highly professional school, great concert halls and music connoisseurs. It is the most important thing in conducting such events. It is possible that the next competition will take place in the Belarusian capital,” Sergei Demensky said.
This year the music competition will be held in Novosibirsk on 5-15 December. The competition will include piano, cello and violin parts. In the violin category young musicians will be accompanied by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus. The orchestra will also accompany in the gala concert of the competition.
“The Belarusian symphony orchestra is highly professional, it can play almost any concert,” Sergei Demensky said.
Participants of the competition will be selected distantly and face-to-face formats in Seoul, Yerevan, Paris, Minsk and other cities.
“The fact that Minsk is in the list of these cities is a merit and high reputation of the Belarusian music school, first of all the gymnasium-college at the Belarusian State Music Academy,” Sergei Demensky added.
Besides, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the association of prize-winners of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus and the national gymnasium-college at the Belarusian State Music Academy. The agreement envisages preferences for Belarusian musicians that plan to participate in the competition as well as other forms of cooperation, including mutual events, information sharing and mutual support in the implementation of educational programs.
