MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – The state will always support talented and creative personalities, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.
“We will always support talented and creative individuals, especially those whose works inspire millions of people and glorify our country,” the head of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko said he spoke about that when he considered nominations for high state awards and prizes. “It is not true that we have no money to support talented people. I will tell you something, even though some may not like it: there are not many people whom we could pay for their talents. Show us such people, and we will support them, but only if they really have talents. If you are a talented person, demonstrate your results to us, and get both money and recognition. This is how it should be done. For talented people, money is not the main thing. Money is important, but what they really need is respect and recognition. Why should the president be the one who initiates the promotion of our talents and outstanding accomplishments?” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
The people of Belarus have great literature, music, art, and architecture that inspire and deserve admiration. “We value our powerful language that we should protect, study and develop. We have inherited a heroic history that should be remembered and amplified with new achievements to pass on to future generations of Belarusians. These elements make us different from other nations and ethnicities, encourage us to perceive ourselves as one family and value our freedom and independence,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
