MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian food products supplied to Russia are of the highest quality, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told the media on 20 December.
“A total of 1.1 million tonnes of Belarusian meat and dairy products crossed the Russian border in January-October 2016. These are large supplies. An estimated 7,500 tonnes of products have been turned back by the Rosselkhoznadzor veterinary services. This shows that the Belarusian food delivered to Russia is of the highest quality,” the Ambassador noted.
The number of Belarusian companies whose access to the Russian market has been restricted is insignificant, Alexander Surikov believes. These are only 20 out of 600 suppliers. “The figure also points to the highest quality of Belarusian food products,” he said.
Alexander Surikov stressed that Russia accounts for 95% of Belarus food exports.
As for the counterfeiting of Belarusian brands in Russia, Alexander Surikov believes that it is also an indicator of the high quality of Belarusian products.
