MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) - Belarus vouches for the quality of its products and takes all product quality complaints very seriously and always thoroughly investigates them, Belarus’ Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister - Director of the Veterinary and Food Supervision Department Alexander Subbotin told media when commenting on the situation with deliveries of milk powder to Russia, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Subbotin underlined that the Belarusian products are of the highest quality and he personally vouches for this. “We value this reputation we have built,” the Deputy Minister stressed.
When we receive any product quality complaint, we suspend the export of this product, the manufacture and launch an investigation. If we find shortcoming while auditing a company, we suspend the production until a company removes all these shortcomings, Alexander Subbotin explained. If a complaint turns out to be ungrounded, we prepare a reasoned response to those who have filed it, he added.
According to the deputy minister, the situation with the supplies of Belarusian milk powder to Russia does not require commenting. “We have received a letter from Rosselkhoznadzor with complaints. We have put the production at these companies on hold and are looking into the matter,” Alexander Subbotin said. He emphasized that this fact does not mean the quality of the Belarusian products is unsatisfactory in general.
According to Alexander Subbotin, out of all Belarusian biggest milk powder exporters to Russia only the supplies of Minsk Dairy No.1 have been suspended.
