MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – The dialogue between the Belarusian Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has reached a new level, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with the PACE pre-electoral mission on 9 August, BelTA informs.
“We have done a lot to advance the relations between the National Assembly of Belarus and PACE. Our dialogue has reached a new, more productive level,” Vladimir Andreichenko believes.
He recalled that in 2015-2016 Belarusian MPs took part in a number of PACE events, including in the sessions of committees, conferences, roundtables on election legislation, etc. The Speaker deemed it necessary to enhance this cooperation. “I think that more Belarusian MPs should be involved in PACE’s current projects,” he said. As an example, Vladimir Andreichenko mentioned the projects aimed at stepping up the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children.
